2009 Canada Day Parade in Aurora

A message from St. Kitts Music:

“The 2009 Canada Day Parade in Aurora was the best Canada Day Parade seen in Aurora’s 40 year parade history! This year’s parade was in fact, the best Canada Day Parade in all of York Region and the GTA! We had more parade viewers than last year – and we estimated 10,000 last year and this year we guestimated 20,000 viewers. Viewing time from start to finish was over an hour. 90% of Citizens were also dressed in red/white honouring this great nation. We had 30 floats and lots of vintage and curious cars and vehicles. Several local sports clubs and spirit of Canada walkers! Clowns, Japanese Dancers, Caribana Dancers, Mardi Gras, Watutu Choir from Uganda – multi-culturism [sic] abounded in this year’s parade in Aurora.

We had the CAWS to save Wells Street Heritage School – Teddy Bears of Hope which Miss Teen Canadians send over to soothe orphans worldwide; The beautiful pink Cement [sic] Truck supporting funds to end Cancer and so much more – it was a community event including the heart of our community on so many levels. The children of Safehaven special needs home here in Aurora were rocking to the 50’s music; the elder residents of Cobblestone Lodge were treated to a horse and buggy ride by MPP Frank Klees. Lois Brown marked a gaggle of Proud to be Canadian Children and our Mayor Morris and Councillors joined Lt. Colonel Andrew Zdunich of the Queen’s York Rangers to honour our veterans and soldiers!

A fantastic parade – the best yet and we thank you.”
