This blog goes nameless for a reason...This disease is blind. I was diagnosed at 35 weeks pregnant with my second child. My past year has been hell. But I have learned to look at the 'Pink Side' of things! I was blessed with a son (who joined his 3 year sister to complete our family)...Then one day last summer, the truck drove down my street...tears streamed down my face. I dedicate my drive to survive to 'a friend' who has follwed in the footsteps of his father (a man dear to my heart)! Lots of love to the Prairie family (especially JCO) for this truely amazing gift!

To the Oremus Family, Thank you so much for the wonderful support you are showing through the beauty of your Pink Trucks. I am a 6 year Breast Cancer Survivor, and I can't tell you how thrilled and surprised I was to look out my living room window one morning to see this spectaculer truck infront of my house pouring our new curbs. I commend your drivers for proudly driving these massive, beautiful pink trucks. Thanks, again

My sister, Gail, drives one of those beautiful pink trucks. She truely feels honored.
  • Susan (or Mrs. B to band kids) (Chesterton IN)
I ran into two "band kids" I chaperoned on band trips in their high school years--and you may recognize the name: Stamper, Eric and Scott. Scott is one of your employees. My breast cancer "trip" began in 2004. I shared with Eric and Scott the fact I will undergo my second mastectomy on April 6, 2007. My first mastectomy was six months ago--September 6, 2006. Eric proudly displayed the post card with the pink truck and the breast cancer awareness info listed on one side.He also noted this website address. Scott let me know all your company does to heighten awareness and the donations made for research--what a great company! He sounded very proud! I hope I get to see a pink truck in the future and when I do I will write again. Thanks!

Mr. Oremus is the best truck maker ever!!! I love the truck. I got to go in it and it was the greatest thing I have ever seen! It is such a great idea to do this because it's helping to cure cancer and it makes people happy. I love my mini-Pink Truck, too!

I love the Pink Truck! I got to go in it and it was so cool! It is so big and really pretty, too. I think that it is so nice that Mr. Oremus made this truck to help people and make people happy. I also love my mini-Pink Truck. It looks just like the big one! Thank you very much, Mr. Oremus!

Congratulations on a wonderful service you provide with your "Pink Trucks." I work for the Mack Truck Dealer in Witchita, Kansas as a parts salesman & I saw the article in the most recent Bulldog magazine. My mother is an eight year survivor of breast cancer and after reading the article I was brought to tears, literally. You all may not realize what a wonderful thing you are doing by decorating your trucks the way you do but the message is getting out loud and clear. From my mother and myself we thank you for doing what you do to pronote breast cancer awareness. You deserve alot more recognition than you get. Thanks again.

The pink trucks are really lovely. What I have always loved about Prairie's trucks the most is my grandfather's name on the side of the truck. I often drive next to the trucks, and when I see their faces or 'John. A. Oremus' on the side of the truck, I always smile. The pink trucks, I believe, really reflect my grandfather's as well as the rest of my family's, truly genuine hearts. Thanks to John for coming up with such a great idea, and God bless all those who are not only battling or coping with the reality of cancer, but also believe in the fight and the cause for others.

I saw this truck in the Gold Coast area today 1/5/07.It has quite impact -especially to me as a driven cause related volunteer !

I work construction and had the chance to see one of these beauties up close and personal. I must say I am "Hooked on Pink" The next greatest thing Prairie could have done with this program was to create a stunning miniature truck. Of course I got myself one to help towards the cause. Great job Prairie, Keep on Mixin...!
  • John Oremus (Wayne)
I can't believe what this idea I had a year and 1/2 has become. I was driving in the car with my brother Michael when we were talking about the colors of the trucks. i said, "it would be a sweet idea if there was a pink truck, for breast cancer." he laughed at first. Whe i first heard that they would make a pink truck I was extremely surprised, but happy that the word would be spread through redi mix trucks. I hope that there will be a cure one day. My thoghts go out to all those who are surving this horrible sickness. I hope that they find strength to go on. Sincerely, John Oremus.

I have the honor to drive one of the Pink trucks in the city and I will have to say Thank You to everyone that was involved to get this truck on the road. I have heard so many stories and expierences that people themselves have gone though and people in their families. It makes me proud to be lucky enough to have the opportunity to drive this truck.

In my book, the Oremus Family did a great thing for all. Bringing in awarness is very essential to each and every one of us. The main thing is early detection, I have experienced this with myself and my 2 daughters. Spread the word, you are never to young or old to get Breast Cancer. Thanks to John, Mike and Alan, you have someone very special smiling down on you.
  • Rubina oremus (wayne)
I want to thank everyone who supports breast cancer awarness. This cause is very close to my heart. I especially want to say how proud I am of my son John Oremus for coming up with the idea of the pink truck. I mostly want to thank Michael Oremus for seeing this project to a level beyond our dreams. John & I will never be able to thank the whole Oremus Family for their dedication to this cause.

Hi! This truck is AWESOME! I had the opportunity to see it down here, and it was unlike anything I have ever seen! It is huge, pretty to look at and what it stands for is so beautiful. There is no way you could walk away and not be affected by it. God Bless the men and women at Prairie Group for taking this entire idea into their hearts. Go see it when you can!
  • Sheri (burr ridge)
I love the pink truck, I have been told by countless moms that it turns many little girls heads in its direction who may not have otherwise noticed a ready mix truck!
  • Sam (Wheaton)
I think this site is terrific! I saw this truck on 157th street a couple of days ago, I had to take a second look.
